Grain Merchandiser

Some of the Essential Functions include:

Stratton Equity Coop is hiring for a Grain Merchandiser position based out of our Stratton, CO location. This position is responsible for the merchandising of customer and Cooperative grain. This is a full time position with health, dental and vision insurance, competitive pay, vacation time, sick leave, retirement plan, 401k, profit sharing and more.

  • Develops and implements risk management policies and procedures for the Cooperative’s grain department;
  • Procures grain from producers and manages producer database;
  • Monitors competitiveness for grain bids and originates grain per risk management strategy;
  • Monitors grain and feed contract compliance in order to ensure delivery and quality;
  • Maintains and keeps accurate spreadsheet records of purchases including futures prices and basis levels;
  • Reports all purchases with accounting department and coordinate purchase and sale contracts with customers and execution of contract deliveries;
  • Handles trades to offset company cash risks and monitor positions;
  • Executes business goals such as cost reductions and margin opportunities, inventory management, and return on investment to ensure that initiatives are measured, managed, and achieved;
  • Develops marketing strategies;
  • Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the Cooperative;
  • Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; respond promptly to customer needs, resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meet commitments;
  • Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management;
  • Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements;
  • Complies with all state and federal laws, codes and regulations;
  • Presents a clean and professional appearance;
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related grain experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires proficient computer operation skills.

 

Ampride - Stratton, CO

Full and Part Time Positions Available!
We have a great opportunity for a customer service focused individual to join our team at the Ampride store in Stratton. We offer flexible hours and competitive pay. Duties include customer service, stocking, receiving, Point-of-Sale, and etc. C-Store experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive benefit package available for full time positions.

 

Elevator Manager - Burlington, CO

We are seeking a professional, customer service focused person to join our team at the Burlington elevator location. Must be safety conscious and able to lead a team while overseeing the operations of multiple facilities. Responsibilities to include overseeing facilities maintenance and cleaning, grain shipping and receiving, and grain quality maintenance. This is a full-time position with health, dental and vision insurance, competitive pay, vacation time, sick leave, retirement plan, 401k, profit sharing and more!

  

Agronomy Field Scout

We are seeking a customer focused individual to work across our trade area in a field scout role. Responsibilities include inspecting for weed, insect, and disease and assisting producers in making timely, informed, and economical field crop decisions.  This is a full-time position with health, dental and vision insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, competitive pay, vacation time, sick leave, retirement plan, 401k, profit sharing and more!

 

Agronomy Sales - Stratton, CO

We are seeking a customer focused, self-starter to join our team in an Agronomist/Sales position. Responsibilities include crop consulting, field sales, customer service and more. Excellent customer service skills are required.
